I’m really excited to be wrapping up my latest big project, a documentary on the quirky yet adorable burrowing owl. 5+ years in the making, this film has been a labor of love, and I can’t wait to share it with all of you soon! The work @h.johnsondavid and the @globalowlproject is doing is incredible. Big thanks to @bigjimlittleworld who discovered this amazing story and made it possible, along with @jonny_brandt, @chrisfischerfilms, @agoetzfilm, @katieggarrett, and @mattpoolephoto. Stay tuned for more soon! Merry Christmas to all of you! 2024 has been an incredible year! I’ve been all over the place filming and bringing stories of the wild to you, and I’m excited to see what 2025 has in store! If we’ve connected, met in passing, had a beer or coffee together, or spent any time chatting or working together, thank you for being a bright spot in my life! Looking forward to getting back up in the White Mountains here in Arizona! Love this place. Also, word for the wise.... don’t use 4 year old instant coffee... I was blissfully unaware of what was about to take place.... hahaha! She makes me smile :) Spent the weekend up in the mountains here in AZ looking for Mexican gray wolves with my friend Hector Morales (@wildframez). Didn’t see them, but we heard them. This is often the case when looking for lobos here in the Southwest. You just may get lucky enough to hear them howl, perhaps even finding their tracks (which can be a challenge given how many people bring their big dogs up into the area, or the sheer number of cattle that trample over the area), but seeing them in the wild is a whole new ball game. I’ve seen them 5 times now, and each time is purely magic. One of the biggest challenges being a filmmaker is not actually being a filmmaker.... it's being a fundraiser. It's one of the hardest and most challenging aspects of the job to be honest! And for anyone that knows me, you know how much I'm driven to make a difference for nature through the films I am working on, and currently developing or yet to begin. This is why I am asking for your help to support the work that I am doing with @reelearthfilms, the nonprofit organization I founded to give nature a voice through film and conservation work. 🌍📸 **Join a Movement That’s Changing the World!** 📸🌍 Hey Denver! I’ll be in town tomorrow for the world premiere of “Welcome Home” at the Sie FilmCenter! This film explores the wolf reintroduction program in Colorado, and I am incredibly proud to have been involved in this story! It showcases the pride of Coloradans and celebrates a world first in carnivore conservation. If you are in the Denver area, you don’t want to miss it! Come say hello! I produced and directed this film with @reelearthfilms, and it was executive produced by the @endangeredspeciescoalition. The film is going to tour around Colorado so keep an eye out for the next screenings! TODAY IS THE DAY!
