The Cactus Wren | Wildlife Filmmaking on the Sony A7S III

I recently found a nest which I suspected to be that of a cactus wren. I came back the next day to try and get some footage of the parents bringing insects to the young. This is all part of a larger project I am working on to tell the story about how alive the Sonoran Desert truly is when you take a moment to observe the wildlife around you. There’s a lot that goes into wildlife filmmaking, but sometimes it all comes together. Filming wildlife is one of the most rewarding things out there in my opinion – there’s nothing like seeing the hard work pay off at the end of the day when the footage you set out to get can be captured. Of course, filming wildlife with the new Sony A7S-III certainly helps as well, as it allows for some pretty spectacular slow motion as it can record in 120fps!
